Kakera #003: My Fav Movie

Ahoy there! Welcome to another kakera of madness written by yours truly!

My favorite movie? Dunno. All movies are alike to my eyes. Hero gets girl, loses girl to the baddie, wins back girl after switching to a new deodorant, and so on. Heh. But if I had to pick one, I'd choose Kara no Kyoukai, hands down. Never heard of it?  Sucks to be you.

...okay, didn't mean that. Just stay at your seat and continue reading. Please.

*ahem* Where were we? Oh yeah, the movie stuff. Okay, Kara no Kyoukai (literally means "The Boundary of Emptiness" is (obviously) a Japanese Anime Movie created by the folks at ufotable. This movie as an adaptation from the visual novel of the same name created by TYPE-MOON (I know, Japanese companies have funny names). The movie is divided into 7 er...movies...with the first movie, " Overlooking View" premiered across Japanese theaters on December 1, 2007 with the rest of the movies , "A Study In Murder", "Remaining Sense of Pain", "Hollow Shrine", "Spiral Paradox", "Oblivion Recorder", and "A Study In Murder 2" being released soon after on December 29, 2007, followed by January 26, 2008, May 24, 2008, August 16, 2008, December 20, 2008, and August 8, 2009 respectively.

Now, the synopsis. the story centers on a girl boy whatever girl named Shiki Misaki. She is a girl who grew up in a family imbued with supernatural powers. In particular, certain members possess something close to dual personalities; the 'male" and "female" sides, who are aware of each other. This dual conciousness, combined with her upbringing and a certain impulse to kill (She's The Reaper made human) has led her to reject other human beings.

When she was in high school, she met a caring classmate, Mikiya Kokutou. Slowly, under his influence, Shiki began to feel happiness in her life. however, that came to an end when Mikiya became to close to her.

.............

Shiki....I don't...wanna die...

 *smiles*

I want to kill you.

.......................

Cue car hitting Shiki right on the head. Ouch. Right before she nailed the poor guy. Lucky git.

June 1998, Shiki woke up from a coma; her eyes bandaged. In her mind, she felt only an utter void. Her memories were a blur, and she couldn't feel her 2 personalities, as if they are dead
(They are dead. Yay). Her doctor told her that it was a car accident. One night a paranoid Shiki tried to claw at her own eyes; eyes that stare into the void. But suddenly a woman, a mage in hiding stopped her, claiming that "they are too valuable to destroy"; after all, they are the "Mystic Eyes of Death Perception",  eyes that could see the thread of death of all things in this world, enabling her to kill everything; a human, a ghost, a cat, energy, Nyx, Mara, Chuck Norris, you name it. Eventually, under the tutelage of Touko the doll-maker/mage/ whatever and her old classmate, Kokutou, Shiki set on a journey to reclaim her lost identity.

*whew* That's long.

And that's pretty much the overview of the movie. I would give a synopsis on all of them but as KnK features a truckload of characters, from the antagonists to the guys who only have 15 seconds in the movie, and as my bed is repeatedly casting Masleepdyne at me right now, I'll pass.

The things that make me love this movie are that it has a dark yet deep plot, and lots of plot twists and mind screws, not a straightforward happy ending kinda movie that features fairies, knights in shining armor and what not. And it has gore. Lots of them (but let me get this straight; I am NOT a Nightmare Fetishist.). So if you like movies that feature mind screws, dark plot twists, deep character background and relationship, cannibalistic sociopaths, and lots of blood, stop reading this review and watch KnK.

Oh and here's the trailer. Enjoy.

Kakera #002: The Meaning Of English

...thought i could finally relax after that last assignment, but alas, I have more writing to do. Yay.

English. The heaviest, yet most important language in the world. Well, after Bahasa, that is.  What more can I say? It's expressive, is internationally accepted by fellows around the world, and it sounds cool. Hate the tenses, grammar, and whatnot though. But anyway, English is definitely the creme de la creme of the languages.

..Wha? Do I like English? 'Course I do. Even though English is definitely far more restrictive than Bahasa, sometimes the only way for me hit the point when talking is by wielding English. Even all those rules and stuff on how to speak English don't make English a lame language. Its nature as an universal language indirectly binds every single human living on earth together, under a single banner: English. Don't believe me? Try speaking Javanese to a foreigner. The result would be quite interesting.

On a different note, English is as useful as it is important in our daily life, especially later on, in the future. Trust me, you won't find people using Tagalog as a primary language in the future. Nope, they'll be using English, mind you.So you see, in order for us to be able to compete and survive in later eras, a good mastery of English is a necessary trait. It should also be noted that as western countries play a major part on the development and advancement of the Information, Communication and Technology field, English will undoubtedly be a necessary, if not, a mandatory language for anyone to master. Yep. Definitely important.

Well that's it. For me English is undoubtedly useful and important, be it for socializing or to secure a winning spot on the humanity's battle for survival later on. To ignorantly wave mastery of English as a trivial matter is foolish. I'm going now.

You, who seek wisdom, seek out English in this solemn hour, the one which shall be your salvation from the defiling blight that is the world. To not indulge in English is a ravaging emptiness, knowledge of it is all.
You, generation of the new world, this single language is your sword, your lone weapon against tyrants of the future era. May you unbind the rules and restrictions, and should you succeed, will you be able stand on this world with your head high.

Learn it. Speak it. Wield it.

Kakera #001:

Eh, my life's as boring as your average guy next door, so I guess I'll not write anything...

...on second thought, scratch that idea. If I can't find stuff to write, I won't get any marks. Which is bad.

Let's try to put some things together, shall we?

Okay, I'm right in the middle of enjoying my junior high days...which don't feel as good as it was when I was still in middle school. Oh sure, it has its ups and downs, but the down parts, like the fact that we have more tasks and assignments, or that we have to bear with more additional classes(Oh no, those classes are perfectly fine,it's just some of them emit certain sleep stimulating particles which are quite hard to endure from, especially on warm days and blackouts)stink. Seriously, what's on those teachers' mind when they barrage us with tons of HWs and tasks? Well, assignments, i can deal with them, but when assignments start piling up to a humongous mess so big, you ran out of space to write on your agenda, well, thank god for caffeine. A little bit biased there, but you get the drift. Busy days. hate 'em.

But let's move on. I live in Meruya with my family. nice bunch of people, them, but truthfully, sometimes i prefer a little portion of time to be alone rather than fraternizing with them. It's not that I hate them, but, well, on a normal day, when my mom gets home, she will almost definitely be tired. And moody. And since my brother and my mother tend to be on terms with each other, I tend to be in the middle of their war. And well, you can put two and two together.

On a bad day it's the same, only worse.

What I do for fun? Well, I usually play games. RPGs, FPSs, stuff like that. but no online games. i am cursed by an incredibly slow internet connection. Took me 18 minutes, 2 network timeouts, and a cup of coffee to load my blog. Very sad. Am currently playing Dragon Age on my PC and P3P on the PSP (and Lord; sweet mara. How I loveth thee). Or sometimes I watch anime. I like a healthy dose of anime, but I'm no maniac.

...and that's the gist of it. So yeah, I'm basically a school hating, game loving freak who is living a carefree high school life without any definite plans for the future. And yes, before you said it, I AM a mess of a human. OK, I'm done here. Show's over, just go and do stuff or whatever. Rollin' out.
